Ah, there’s that little nip in the air that comes in at the last third of the year… things get colder, darker (spookier, even), more chaotic, more jovial, more out-of-order… much like this year’s releases. It only gets better as the holidays start strolling around the corner, and Album of the Year Deliberation Season is looking mighty tough this year. Here’s our staff’s monthly picks for September! ⛄🎛️

i cant say for certain that a week would be enough for you to see everything you want to see; to experience everything you might want to experience, and indulge in everything you might want and need…. but it felt like everyone was there with me.

Music for wondering where you are. Music for walking. Music for getting thoroughly inspired. Music for forgiving mall emo. Music for a fun time.
Here are the songs that carried Kim, Gaby, Tonchi, Habibi, and Riann through June.

I think that a much healthier approach to listening to music lies in listening to understand rather than to assess: to figure out what the effect of the music is, and why, rather than how good it is.

Mellow. Moody. Magical. Any of these words sum up your month of May? If you're a little stuck, perhaps AJ, Habibi, Nomar, and Inigo's picks could help you out 💐🎧🎶

My first gig as inanotherworld is just something I will remember for a long time, for a good reason.
Aze
I’d like to think that food is one of my ways of enjoying memories, and I can’t help but be whiplashed back to 2016 after having a bite of this.
More important than any tool in an artist’s craft is the patience it takes to see a project through to completion, whether or not the end product is anything at all like what you imagined. Considering I wield the double-edged sword of stubbornness, however, I know I will find this belief hard to subscribe to without suppressing armories of anger and doubt.
Little by little, I hope to rectify this somehow.
Tonchi
If getting new people into a scene is the primary means of keeping it alive, why are so many of a scene’s typical behaviors actively discouraging towards new blood?
Stella
Caring for a cat involves feeding, litter upkeep, chin scratches, and, most importantly, making up little songs centered around them.
Pepi
The idea, the purpose and the decision–those are what matter most.
Nomar
If going to gigs is socially draining enough for someone like me, imagine being a music student on top of that. It’s something else.
Iñigo
For a majority of my weekends, I’ve become desensitized to oppressive brake lights, of which there are a multitude to choose from, all coming to the same conclusion: you’re in line. This is what I hate about driving; for the moment you’re in a car, your sole purpose is diminished to Simply Getting There.
