KIM'S PICKS

Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II
SINGLE | fitterkarma

God's Gonna Give You a Million Dollars
ALBUM | Shallowater

NOMAR'S PICKS

No One Waved Goodbye
ALBUM | Tacoma Radar

I haven’t had the time to listen to anything new, new releases or old– I’ve really only been revisiting albums I’ve listened to since the 2nd half of the year, it’s one of the albums that really stuck to me and that yung talagang inabsorb ko? I say that a lot but etong album talaga ung on repeat ko, Pilot House reminds me of home in the states, reminds me of being a kid for some reason. it’s slowcore that’s interesting

American Football
EP | American Football

hehehehehehehehe, alam mohaaa

ansaya netong album actually after revisiting it many many times this is definitely #emo

The Summer Ends sounds exactly like the title, like i’m at the last days of summer feeling the autumn breeze, school starting in a few days . . . figuring out who’s gonna fight my spider man toy to the death while a favorite childhood movie plays in the background, maybe i just wanna be a kid again when i listen to this album xd

AJ'S PICKS

I Will Commit a Holy Crime
EP | Gylt

Yes, this band is fronted by none other than one of my favorite graphic designers ever, Iphigenia / Foie Graphics. A crusty and vicious gut punch that leaves you bleeding out yet wanting for more. I've never felt such an overwhelming emotional release in a while since listening to this EP and it will definitely and forcibly grab your attention.

Racing Mount Pleasant
ALBUM | Racing Mount Pleasant

Intimacy and vulnerability are notoriously difficult to capture in art. We tend to capture them as quiet, internalized experiences and grandeur is usually not what one would usually lean on to express them, but this album is as raw and honest as it it a grand sweeping release of catharsis.

Vitamin C
SINGLE | Can

One of the most attention grabbing Alt-R&B albums I've heard in a while. Across all its songs, the album flows with a dizzying variety, shifting from mood to mood while maintaining consistency thanks to some tight production and hypnagogic pop influences sprinkled throughout. I'm fully enamored by the raw and guttural (dare I say, "passionate") lyricism going on here that's accented perfectly by some expressive, almost desperate, vocal delveries as well.

GABY'S PICKS

Who's the Clown?
ALBUM | Audrey Hobert

The best pop comes from weird girls. This stunning debut has been brought to us by probably one of the weirdest pop girls we've had in recent years, second only to Ethel Cain imo. It's the same quirky ultra-crisp singer-songwriter stuff you've probably heard before, but not! It is better. Wackier, even! Honest and desperate in a way that isn't too preachy or hugot-able. A person on Twitter said this is what Gracie Abrams would sound like if her heart was in it and I couldn't agree more.

I Wish You Were a Girl
SINGLE | 12 RODS

Crazy ass track lyrics-wise... somehow makes me wish I were a closeted guy in the Midwest. On a more serious note though I always appreciate when queer love and sexuality is depicted with NUANCE and grace (see: I'm laughing, but it's not funny) to all parties involved. Such themes seem to be recurrent in 12 RODS' music - which is especially impressive considering the years they first started and peaked - so I hope to dive in deeper one day.
